Lunar Material Delivery to Earth

Supervisor: Dr. Paul Wiegert

Can extend to MSc?:  Yes

Project Description (Abstract):

During the upcoming Artemis missions, humanity will return to the Moon and collect the first samples of the Moon's surface since 1972. Yet, material from the Moon may arrive at the Earth naturally in the form of "lunar ejecta", material blasted off of the Moon's surface by asteroid impacts and that then falls to Earth. This project seeks to determine whether lunar ejecta is present among the ever-increasing database of meteors observed around the world by the Global Meteor Network and other sensors.
