Space Out! at Cronyn Observatory

  

Join us on 23rd September 2017 at Western University's Hume Cronyn Memorial Observatory to celebrate Science Literacy Week. This event is hosted by the Centre for Planetary Science and Exploration (CPSX), in partnership with Department of Physics and AstronomyRoyal Astronomical Society of Canada-London Chapterand The Planetary Society-London Chapter. There will be fun activities for space enthusiasts of all ages -- kids, adults, and everyone in between!

Activities: 

   Space Science Challenge
       - 5:30pm for students in Grade 7 and under,
       - 6:00pm for students in Grade 8 and above, and
       - 6:30pm for adults.
   Star gazing through Cronyn's 10-inch main telescope as well as several other telescopes
   Hands-on Activities (5:00 to 8:00 pm)
       - Edible Rock Analysis
       - Spectroscopy Demonstration
       - Arts and Crafts for kids
   Historical displays and artifacts
   Space-themed books on display
   Raffle
       - Lots of prizes to be won at our raffle draw.
       - The draw will take place at 7:00pm after the Space Science Challenge.
