Dr. Aaron SigutWelcome to the graduate area of the Physics and Astronomy website. Our Department offers programs in both physics and astronomy leading to MSc and PhD degrees. We have a vibrant core faculty of 30 researchers covering the areas of astronomy, condensed matter physics, medical physics, and planetary science.

If you are a potential student considering graduate study at Western, start with the Research Overview pages (links at the top right) to get a good idea of the exciting research done at Western. On each research overview page, you will find quick links to the research faculty in each area of speciality. Don't forget to also look at the various collaborative programs that you can combine with your graduate degrees.

Links in purple (on the right) should give you all the details as to the entrance and degree requirements as well as the financial support available to graduate students. Potential and current students can also find a complete graduate course catalogue for our Department as well as our current course offerings in 2011/2012.

Here at Western we are extremely proud of our current compliment of MSc and PhD students and the research that they perform. If you are a potential student, I hope that you will consider joining us.
