Returns policy and instructions for bookstores

• OUR BOOKS ARE RETURNABLE. Our return period is normally between 90 days to 1 year after the publisher's invoice date, but we accept returns more than one year after this date as long as the edition is still in print.

• RETURN PERMISSION MUST BE REQUESTED, so that we can give you detailed instructions for returning. Please note that for books being returned from outside Canada it is essential to clearly state on all shipping documents, especially on the NAFTA form, that the books were MADE IN CANADA if they are to avoid being taxed by Canada Customs on return.

• SHIPPING: ship books by parcel post or by a courier service such as UPS or Fedex, prepaid. (Note that books transported by a shipper such as UPS will incur a customs brokerage fee of US$ 25-75, but that no such fee is charged for books shipped by mail.) Send to

• To qualify for a refund, books must arrive here in resaleable condition. Please package them carefully. In particular, do not allow them to slide around inside the shipping container, as this will certainly scuff and damage the covers. No refund will be issued for damaged books.

• Refunds will be for the price that you paid for the resaleable returns, less any shipping charges, brokerage, duties, and taxes that we pay for their return. We will issue you a cheque for the balance, or credit your account, as you instruct.
